How does the wine pump work?

When wine is exposed to air - oxygen gets in and causes an unwanted process, which turns the alcohol into acetaldehyde. This causes white wines to lose their pleasant color and turn brown as they begin to smell of dried fruit, while red wines lose their vibrant color. Sealing your wine with the pump protects it from contact with oxygen and slows down the oxidation process, so the aroma, taste and color are perfectly preserved for a few days, even weeks, depending on the type of wine.

The package includes 12 caps and a manual pump. As soon as possible after opening the wine, replace the cork and remove the air using the vacuum pump provided. 2 or 3 pulls should be enough, depending on how much wine is left. Wine stoppers are suitable for use in the refrigerator and for washing in the dishwasher. Airless caps are also suitable for storing fruit juices, however we recommend that you do not use the caps to store carbonated drinks or sparkling wines.
